About the day at Mount Ponsonby
Bob has provided a bit of information about the walk and the area:
It’s about a 0.5 km flat walk from the parking spot to the old road up Mt Ponsonby, then an uphill climb from ca 590 m to the relatively flat area at ca 680 m. I looked at the flat walk part recently and it’s OK, but I haven’t seen the old uphill road in ca 20 years. It used to be fine, as it was a logging main road, not a narrow 4WD track. There’s plenty for field nats to see along both roads, and lots of millipedes in the wet forest.
